If you want to activate your free office package via Microsoft you have to open the Microsoft office program of your choice. Select a Microsoft choice or create an account. Log in and accept the conditions.

1. Open the office program -  Programs like Word and Excel are pre-installed on a laptop with a year of free office. You have to open one of these to start the activation. Click Start and type in word or excel. Start the program by clicking on the icon.

5. Get started - After activating Microsoft office, you will get a confirmation email, which would be sent to the address you provided above. This contains the activation code. Do not enter it anywhere but must keep it in a safe place. You can use this code when you reinstall Windows. You can now get started with the office.
